A Novel UV2A Alignment Technique for Improving Skin Color Washout

In this paper, a novel UV2A alignment technique has been introduced in 8D pixels design by hybrid LC pretilt angles in Array and CF substrate respectively using different PI materials by experiments, When LC pretilt angle on CF substrate is smaller about 1 degree than that on array substrate, the skin color shift of the display has been improving greatly. The visual effect and evaluated parameters achieved are comparable to that in a VA display (PSVA and UV2A) with microlens-compensated polarizer. That is, Skin Color CR (80/20) was increased from 53.7% to 61%, Skin Color ?uv was decreased from 0.010 to 0.004, and CESI Angle of view was increased from 95° to 125° within specification delt uv < 0.03.
