Innovative Approaches to Lithium Recycle and Reuse of Chemical Strengthening Salt in Display Cover-Glass Manufacturing

Description:

A recycling system of lithium in chemical strengthening salt was developed. Thermodynamic simulations and practical experiments demonstrated efficient lithium recovery from the salt through chemical crystallization. This method restored the strength of the glass without any defects while reusing 96.4 wt% of molten salt. Lithium recovery through chemical crystallization can contribute to the effective use of lithium and the development of sustainable display cover glass manufacturing processes.
