Description:

For wearable copilot applications, LCoS (liquid-Crystal-on-Silicon) and MicroLED are deemed as the most promising microdisplay candidates because of their unprecedented high PPI and image quality. In this paper, we will comprehensively compare the key metrics of LCoS and MicroLED panels and their light engine architecture. By exploring the design and process limitations, we will sketch the roadmap to the commercialization of these miniaturized AR displays.
