Glass-Based Network-Controlled Repeaters for mmWave Communications
Late-News
Description:
Visban has developed glass-based network-controlled repeaters (NCRs) to distribute high frequency millimeter wave signals. Next generation terrestrial and non-terrestrial wireless networks will employ frequencies over 28 GHZ to offer significantly faster data speeds and lower latency over existing 5G networks to enable real-time AI, holographic AR/VR/XR, automonous robotics and other emerging applications. However, millimeter wave signals have lower range and are easily blocked requiring a new network paradigm. Current networks generally directly connect the base station to end user devices but millimeter wave networks will require a new subnetwork of NCRs to connect devices to base stations.
