I am a pringipal engineer with Samsung Display (Korea and Vietnam) Module Technology Team, Laser group (2017~).
I began working in the laser processing technics for display panel in the 2017.
My work has focused upon developing laser trimming techniques: DOE test/novel laser trimming method applicaions/pulse laser based laser processing/optical simulation/AI appliations for display panels.
Work experiences and skills
- Conducting research and characterization of display panel laser cut process based on UV femto/pico pulse and CO2 lasers: Analysis of panel characteristics and cross-section(profie) after laser cutting (using SEM, Optical microscope, FIB, etc.).
- Discovering optimized process conditions for display panel cutting of new products using pulse and Q-switch lasers: Discovering improved quality laser cutting conditions for foldable, hole display, and flexible display applications.
5 patents have been registered based on research results.
- New model development and launching: Developing new display panels supplied to major companies such as Apple, Samsung, Google, Meta, Huawei, Vivo, etc.
(Cooperation department: Customer service team, new product development team, Process architecture team, etc.)
- Conducting tests and process characteristics analysis to apply the new type lasers and new optical devices, galvano/mirco mirror scanners for mass production
Partner company: Coherent (USA), Trumpf (Germany), Amplitude (France), Aerotech (USA), EO Technics (Korea), PHIL optics (Korea), JAStech (Korea) etc.
- Development of artificial intelligence (AI) based laser beam profile analysis technology to enhance productivity enhancement.
Samsung display certified AI qualifying examination: pro-level.
- In 2019, I was dispatched to Samsung display Vietnam as a laser process manager, managing the laser process engineer and Vietnam engineer.
