Hi there, I am Dr. Alexander Schubert, Senior Expert for Computational Modeling at Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany. I investigate OLED devices by means of computer simulations to understand how the smallest units of an OLED stack affect its performance on the large scale.
I studied physics at Würzburg University, Germany, and received my PhD in theoretical chemistry/quantum dynamics at the same institution.
In my multiple postdoctoral research stays in France, (Toulouse), USA (Ann Arbor, Mi & Kenst State University, OH), and Germany (Jena) I investigated the time-dependent behavior of electrons, atoms, molecules, and clusters over various timescales: From atto- to microseconds.
Since 2021 I am with Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany and focus on questions regarding charge and energy transfer between molecules and across whole devices.
