Dr. Cris Seungin Baek is a Corporate Vice President and head of CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) team in Samsung Display. He received his PhD in 2006 from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea, for research in the area of laser and fiber optics. He researched at the Optoelectronics Research Centre (ORC) at the University of Southampton in 2003 and 2004 as a visiting researcher during PhD candidate. When he was granted his PhD degree, he joined the LCD Business, Samsung Electronics which changed its name into Samsung Display in 2012. He transferred to the CAE team for design and anlaysis of OLED panels in 2012 especially simulation of optical performances. He was promoted to a Corporate Vice President in 2021 and appointed the head of CAE team in 2024. He currently focuses on simulation technologies for design and analysis of OLED panels including fabrication process.
