Simon has been at the forefront of display innovation since 2003, starting as VP of Business Development at Plastic Logic and then as VP of Sales and Marketing at Liquavista (later acquired by Amazon). As Business and Innovation Director at Dow Corning, Simon was responsible for a $100M portfolio of silicone-based materials for consumer electronics applications including displays.
From 2015 to 2019, Simon was Commercial Director at FlexEnable where he led go-to-market planning and offer development from the company’s launch. He went on to engage a portfolio of the world's most valuable brands as lead customers for FlexEnable's plastic LCD screen and plastic LC optics technologies.
From 2019 to 2024, Simon was CEO of Helio Display Materials where he led the creation of the globally leading technology platform for perovskite display materials, demonstrating their potential to revolutionise performance and simplify manufacturing of microLED and QD-OLED displays. He raised Series A financing from leading UK VCs and built a world-class team and facility in Oxford UK, delivering photoresists and inkjet inks to key partners and achieving first revenues.
Simon’s background is in electronics product design where he established a track record of developing successful design services businesses when based in the UK and in the US.
Simon has a first class honours degree in Electronics Engineering from the University of Sheffield and an MBA from Henley Management College.
