Fedor Goumans, PhD, MBA
Chief Customer Officer
Software for Chemistry & Materials
Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands
Fedor Goumans completed his PhD in theoretical chemistry at VU University Amsterdam in 2005, focusing on computational chemistry methods, particularly density functional theory (DFT) to study chemical reactions and material properties. His PhD work included studies on the photodissociation of transition metal carbonyl complexes.
Following his PhD, Fedor undertook postdoctoral research at University College London (UCL) and Leiden University. At UCL, he explored surface science and theoretical chemistry, studying the stability and structure of quartz surfaces and contributing to understanding hydrogen-atom tunneling and its potential role in Hâ‚‚ formation in space. His research at Leiden University involved high-performance computing for various chemical simulations.
In 2012, Fedor joined Software for Chemistry & Materials (SCM) as a Business Developer and is currently the Chief Customer Officer. He leverages computational methods to accelerate R&D in chemistry and materials science, with a particular interest in battery technology. Fedor works closely with channel partners, resellers, hardware partners, and software partners to enhance the capabilities of the Amsterdam Modeling Suite. His role involves collaborating with researchers to address their challenges and demonstrating how SCM's software can optimize their research processes. Fedor is dedicated to leveraging cutting-edge technology to meet the latest research challenges efficiently.
