Franky So is the Walter and Ida Freeman Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the North Carolina State University. Dr. So has over 120 issued patents and patent applications. He has published more than 220 peer-reviewed articles with a Google H-index of 82. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Materials Science and Engineering Reports and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Journal of Photovoltaics, IEEE Journal of Display Technology, ACS Applied Electronic Materials, and Organic Electronics. So is a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Photonics Society, a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, a Fellow of IEEE, MRS, SID, OSA and SPIE. His current research interest areas include OLED optics and photonics and quantum phenomena in hybrid materials.
