Zhao Lei is an outstanding young expert in the fields of near-eye optics and display optics. She earned her bachelor's degree from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Nanjing University and later obtained her Ph.D. from Kent State University's Liquid Crystal Institute. She subsequently joined Apple Inc., where she served as a Senior Display Optical Engineer. During her tenure, she led the optical design for multiple first-generation product lines, with the first-generation iPad Pro, second-generation iPad Pro, and Vision Pro winning the International Display of the Year Award from the Society for Information Display (SID) in 2016, 2018, and 2024, respectively.
